It was a gypsy style top. Made with a gorgeous floral chiffon. It had long flowing sleeves and a pretty waterfall Frill along the neckline.
I think I was about Seven. I remember pleading with her. Trying to convince her, how important it was that she donated this rarely worn item to the cause!
What cause? Well... you see, my Dolls house was in dire need of some new curtains, and Mum would only need let go of the Frilly cuffs from her beloved blouse, because they would be more than adequate to make a happy home?
Needless to say, she was not once persuaded. And I, instead, was handed a plain blouse. A plain blouse that was blue and had no flowers. It did have a frill. But only a small one and didn't make nearly as nice curtains as I'd have liked!
